Welcome to Team Impact 2031
Let's Build Your Player's Profile.
Welcome, and thank you for being part of Team Impact 2031 — one of the DMV's premier Class of 2031 AAU programs. This onboarding portal collects everything needed to feature your player on our public recruiting website at teamimpact2031.com, built to put our athletes in front of high school and college coaches across the WCAC, IAC, MAC, and PVAC conferences.
Before we collect your player's information, we'll walk you through three short agreements — a Social Media Code of Conduct, a Website Liability Agreement, and a Roles & Responsibilities acknowledgment. These protect your child, the team, and everyone involved. We've kept the language as plain as possible.
We'll also walk you through setting up your player's athlete Instagram account — one of the most effective recruiting tools available, and something coaches check on every recruit.
This process takes approximately 10–15 minutes. Please read everything carefully.
Agreement 1 of 3
What We Post, and How We Act.
Team Impact 2031 — Social Media Agreement
Read in fullThis Social Media Code of Conduct ("Agreement") is entered into between Team Impact 2031 (the "Program") and the undersigned player and parent/guardian (collectively, "Participant").
Purpose
Team Impact 2031 is building a public-facing digital presence to support player recruiting and team branding. Players' Instagram handles and other social profiles may be linked from the official website. This Agreement establishes the standards of conduct expected of all players and their families on social media.
Player Responsibilities
- Represent the Program with dignity. Any post, story, reel, or comment that mentions Team Impact 2031 — or is made while wearing Team Impact gear — must reflect the values of the program: hard work, respect, and excellence.
- No disparagement. Players and parents may not publicly disparage teammates, coaches, opposing players, referees, or the program itself on any social media platform.
- No profanity, violence, or inappropriate content. Players should assume every post is visible to college coaches. Content involving alcohol, drugs, violence, explicit language, or illegal activity is strictly prohibited.
- No political or divisive content tied to the team. Keep personal political opinions separate from your team identity. Do not post divisive or inflammatory content while presenting yourself as a Team Impact athlete.
- Protect teammates' privacy. Do not post photos or videos of teammates, practices, or games without consent of the individuals and approval of coaching staff. This is especially important for minor athletes.
- Notify the program of handle changes. If your Instagram handle or any linked social profile changes, notify Garita Cyber Defense at info@teamimpact2031.com within 48 hours so the website can be updated.
Parent / Guardian Responsibilities
- Parents are expected to model the same standards of conduct on social media as players.
- Public criticism of coaches, referees, other parents, or players — even under a personal account — reflects on the program and will be addressed by program leadership.
- Parents may not post match statistics, scores, or video of games without prior approval, as this data could violate TeamSnap privacy settings.
Consequences of Violations
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in:
- Removal of the player's profile from teamimpact2031.com
- Suspension from team activities
- Permanent removal from Team Impact 2031
Team Impact 2031 leadership has sole discretion in determining what constitutes a violation and the appropriate response. Team Impact 2031 will make reasonable efforts to notify the affected family prior to enforcement action, except in cases where immediate removal is warranted to protect the safety, reputation, or integrity of the Program or its members.
Understanding
Reputation can be damaged — for the individual player and for the entire team — by the actions of one person. We ask that every player and family member understand the weight of that responsibility and act accordingly, at school, at home, and everywhere in between.

4. Privacy of Minor Athletes and COPPA Compliance

By completing this onboarding form and checking the release box in the Player Profile section, Guardian grants Garita Cyber Defense Solutions, LLC and Team Impact 2031 a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to publish the player's submitted information, photographs, and social media profile imagery on teamimpact2031.com and in promotional materials related to the Program, for the duration of the player's active participation in Team Impact 2031.

Upon receipt of a valid revocation request, the license shall terminate and all published content specifically identifying the player shall be removed from the Site within 5 business days. Instagram Setup Guide
Build Your Player's Recruiting Presence.
A dedicated athlete Instagram account is one of the most powerful recruiting tools available to your player — and one of the most overlooked. College coaches don't just watch highlight reels. They search social media. They look at how a player carries themselves, what they celebrate, and how they represent their team. Your player's Instagram is their first impression before a coach ever sees them play.
This guide walks you through setting up a professional athlete account step by step. The handle you create here will be submitted with your player's profile in the next step. If your player already has a dedicated athlete account, review the tips below to make sure it's optimized.

What Coaches Are Saying
The perspectives below reflect these coaches' publicly documented recruiting philosophy and are paraphrased from interviews and press conference statements. They are not verbatim quotations.
"We look at every recruit's social media. Not to catch them doing something wrong — but to understand who they are, what they care about, and whether they'd fit our culture. A player's Instagram tells us a story that a highlight tape never could. It shows us character."
"Character and how you carry yourself online matters as much as skill. Coaches are watching — not just your highlights, but how you talk about others, how you handle adversity, and what you choose to celebrate. That tells us everything about how you'll represent our program."
"We recruit the whole person, not just the player. A professional, consistent social media presence tells me a recruit is serious — about the game and about their future. We want players who understand that their brand starts now, not when they get to college."
"I've been doing this for decades and the message has never changed: character is everything. Social media just makes character more visible, earlier. The players who understand that have an edge before they ever step into a gym."
Step-by-Step: Creating the Account
Create a Dedicated Athlete Account
Your player's athlete account should be completely separate from any personal account. Go to instagram.com or open the Instagram app, tap Sign up, and use your player's real first name. Use a parent-managed email address for the account.
Choose the Right Username
The username is how coaches search for your player. Keep it clean, professional, and easy to find.
Recommended formats:
@FirstName_LastInitial_GradYear → @Julian_J_2031
@FirstName_Position_GradYear → @Julian_PG_2031
@FirstName_LastInitial_Bball → @Julian_J_Bball
Write a Recruiting Bio (150 characters)
Instagram bios are short — make every word count. Include position, height, school, graduation year, and city. Add a basketball emoji and the team tag.
@teamimpact2031 | Highlights ↓
Set the Account to Public
This is the most common mistake families make. Coaches cannot see a private account. To make the account public: go to Settings & Privacy → Account Privacy → turn off "Private Account."
Set a Professional Profile Photo
Use a clear, high-quality action shot of your player in their jersey — ideally Team Impact or school gear. The photo should be cropped to show face and upper body clearly. No school logos in the background (per the photo guidelines). No filters that distort the image.
Pin Your Highlight Reel as the First Post
Upload your player's highlight reel video to the account (or post a link to the YouTube/Hudl reel). Then long-press the post → Pin to Profile so it's always the first thing coaches see.
Post Strategically — Quality Over Quantity
Great content for an athlete account includes: game clips, training videos, tournament highlights, academic achievements, team moments, and program milestones. Every post should ask: "Would I be comfortable if a college coach saw this right now?"
Follow the Right Accounts
Follow @teamimpact2031 and engage with team posts — likes, comments, and reposts signal program commitment. Also consider following college programs your player is interested in. Coaches notice when recruits engage with their content early and authentically.
Handle Coach DMs Professionally
When coaches reach out via Instagram DM, respond promptly and professionally. Use complete sentences. No slang. If you're unsure how to respond, involve your parent before replying. Every message to a coach is part of the recruiting conversation.
Notify Team Impact When Your Handle Is Ready
Once the account is set up, you'll enter the Instagram handle in the Player Profile step. You can also email changes at any time to info@teamimpact2031.com. We update handles on the website within 3–5 business days.
⛔ What Not to Post — Ever
- Profanity, slurs, or aggressive language — in captions, comments, or replies
- Content involving alcohol, drugs, or illegal activity — regardless of age or context
- Disparaging comments about teammates, coaches, opponents, or referees
- Divisive political or inflammatory content tied to your team identity
- Reposting or sharing content that violates any of the above — sharing counts as endorsing
- Photos or videos of teammates without their and the coaching staff's consent
- Old posts that don't meet these standards — consider doing a full account audit before submitting this profile
Already have a dedicated athlete account? Great — review the tips above to make sure it's optimized, then enter the handle in the next step. You don't need to create a new one.
